Gary Hough Principal of Q10 KDH is a seasoned commercial real estate executive with a broad background in finance, investment sales and development. His career began over 35 years ago as an investment sales broker and later transitioned into the development of retail and multifamily focusing on major markets in Texas, Arizona, and Tennessee. He was responsible for feasibility, site selection and financing of ground up development. In addition to obtaining construction loans and takeout financing, he arranged Tax-Exempt Bond Financing for multifamily development. After the commercial real estate crash of the 1980s, Tax Reform of 1986, and the savings and loan debacle, Mr. Hough liquidated distressed assets for institutional investors such as insurance companies, banks, the FDIC, and the Resolution Trust Corporation.
He learned first hand the cyclical nature of commercial real estate. During the recovery in the early 1990s, Mr. Hough called upon his experience and joined Kinghorn, Driver as a Principal, and helped grow the mortgage banking company from a $75 million loan servicing portfolio to over $1.4 billion. Currently, as a founding member of Q10 Capital, the firm has achieved a servicing portfolio of over $11.9 billion. In addition to day-to-day managerial duties and investor relations, he is responsible for debt and equity placement.
Gary received an undergraduate BA Degree from the University of St. Thomas. He is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Multifamily Housing Council and is on the Advisory Board of the Urban Land Institute. Gary is a frequent panelist, speaker and moderator related to mortgage banking and commercial real estate topics. Additionally, he enjoys serving as a Visiting Executive Professor of Real Estate Finance at Texas A&M University, Mays Business School and sitting on the Advisory Board of the Masters of Real Estate Program.
